1. Booking your session
Once you have selected your training session date/time slot on our online calendar, you will be asked to complete our pre-training knowledge form and make bank payment for your training session(s).
It is your responsibility to ensure that you attend on the correct date, time and place for your one to one session(s).
Any travel within 10 miles of Long Crendon is included in the cost of your session but any further will be charged separately.
10-15 miles - £10
15-0 miles - £20
Over 20 miles - discuss with Ally
You will receive confirmation of your booking and details of where to meet. Please bring your dog, treats or a favourite toy.
2. Payment
·The training fee must be paid in advance of attending your one to one training session(s).
Preferred payment is via BACS to our bank. Details will be provided on your booking form.
Failure to pay before your training session will result in your training session being cancelled and your session will be given to another client. The training session cost advertised at the time of booking applies.
3. Cancellations/Refunds
You may cancel or amend a session by giving us 2 full working days’ notice. Cancellations or with less than 2 full working days’ notice will incur the full session rate.
If you fail to show up to your session without prior agreement, you will be charged for that session.
If you have bought a training package each have to be completed in the time specified (Bronze - 4 weeks; Silver - 6 weeks and Gold - 8 weeks) from the date of your first session. Any unused sessions will be forfeited, except in exceptional circumstances made at the sole discretion of Karma Dogs.
Karma Dogs can in exceptional circumstances offer to rearrange a session, due to illness or a medical emergency, we will make every effort to reschedule your session to another mutually convenient time.
If our session has to be abandoned due to the inclement weather, the session will be rescheduled with no loss of payment.
We reserve the right to terminate a package if we deem that a dog or person is not suitable to continue the booked activity and the unused sessions will be refunded. If we feel your dog needs specialist help, we will recommend an appropriate qualified behaviourist for you to work with.
4. Attendance
Each 121 session is held in the most appropriate setting for you and your dog in your home/garden or local park or on a local training walk.
Although family members are welcome & please inform us who will be attending your session to make sure that this will be appropriate for your dog.
Children under 16 are very welcome to attend training sessions, with appropriate adult supervision and this supervising adult to ensure the children’s safety at all times. Young people under. Children and any adults attending must be engaged in the training and do not disrupt your dog’s learning.
5. Photography
You/your family and your dog may be photographed and/or videoed during the training session for marketing/advertising purposes.
If you do not consent to this being used for commercial purposes (e.g. website, social media/printed material) please let us know.
Unless you state otherwise, your consent for use of your photographs is implied.
·Please note: all photos used will be anonymous other than your dog’s name.
6. Training Equipment & Handling Methods
All dogs must remain on a 2-metre lead and kept away from contact with other dogs unless specifically instructed by the trainer. Extendable/flexi leads are not permitted to avoid injury to others.
Flat collars or harnesses (except anti-pull types) are permitted. We may also use 10 metre training lines if appropriate.
The following items are NOT PERMITTED under any circumstances:
o Check/choke chains or prong or pinch collars
o Slip leads or half check collars
o Electronic training collars or spray or anti-bark/citronella collars
o Rattle cans/bottles or any other device that causes pain or discomfort to the dog
o Any equipment that the Karma Dogs deems unsuitable or unacceptable.
Karma Dogs using reward-based training methods and does not allow harsh or physical force or punishment-based training techniques in our Karma Dog training sessions.
7. Your Safety
For home visits, please ensure your dog is comfortable with new people entering your home and if you unsure how they may react, please place your dog in another room when Ally first arrives. We will then discuss how to bring your dog into the room. You dog should be wearing a flat collar or harness too.
If we are using one of Karma Dog’s stooge dogs it is important that they are not put at risk. So, if appropriate we will be teaching your dog to be happy to wear a muzzle to ensure the safety of people and dogs when training.
We make every effort to ensure safety of both clients and dogs during the training. By making a booking, you are accepting that participating in an activity with dogs, children and adults poses a risk of injury to yourself and your dog, and you agree to indemnify Karma Dogs for all personal injury and damage to property owned by you while attending any dog training with Karma Dogs. You also agree to make any person who accompanies on your training session , are also there at their own risk. Any instances of accident or injury must be reported to the trainer at the time they occurred.
8. Intellectual Property
Any printed or digital materials provided are owned by Karma Dogs can cannot be copied, shared or reproduced without our express permission.
